The inspiration for the colours that make up our Marled New Brunswick Twin Sock design is:
- Shades of Green for the lumber and agriculture sectors
- Gold for the cultural wealth
- Brown is for Lord Beaverbrook, who commissioned the first tartan
- Red is for loyalty and courage
- Blue for the coastal and inland waters and the fishing industry
- two single skeins hand dyed at the same time for matching socks (start at the same end of each skein)
- semi-tonal pattern repeats every 6 stripes
- 80% superwash Merino / 20% nylon blend
- approximately 50g + 50g / 200m + 200m
- fingering weight
- gently hand wash in cold water
- air dry
- may bleed
The following Marled Mini Sock yarn colours complement Marled New Brunswick to add heels, toes and cuffs: Marled Red Cloak, Marled Cake Boss Brown and Marled Peacock Blue. If you would prefer a non-marled look you can choose from our semi-tonal Mini Sock yarns: Gold Rush, Red Cloak, Muskoka Woods Green, Forest Green, Cake Boss Brown and Peacock Blue.
The striping pattern in the sample in the photograph was knit with 2.5 mm needles over 70 stitches.
All yarns are hand dyed in a smoke-free, pet friendly environment.
Great care is taken when photographing our yarns to represent their colour accurately however, the colour may vary from monitor to monitor.
